Cons of Multitasking

Multitasking is a talent found in very few people. Thinking about how to impress and convince your boss while talking to your wife on your marriage anniversary over phone is something very proficient. Not everyone can do it. If you think you can talk to your mom while preparing your breakfast and at the same time writing down the grocery list then you’re a multitasker. Multitasking is not bad sometimes because there are few moments when you have to multitask being left with no other option. Such as if you’re in a shopping mall and you’ve got a call from your office colleague who is re-evaluating your reports for the instant presentation you might need to explain all your calculations over phone while looking for your size jeans. But another undeniable fact about multitasking is, with pros multitasking comes with few cons too. I totally understand your eagerness to know about all the pros and cons of multitasking, so without much ado let’s get started.

PROS

1. It helps you to complete tasks on time

When you get the skills to multitask you easily complete multiple tasks on time. You get the idea of multitasking and learn how to manage multiple works at a single time being spontaneous. Multitasking reduces the time effort as you do multiple tasks simultaneously.

2. It makes you learn being adaptable

Multitasking makes you learn being adaptable and being spontaneous. These days things, situations, opportunities, information are changing at lighting fast speed. If one wants to walk parallel to the environment, one has to become spontaneous learning adaptability and for that multitasking is beneficial.

3. It makes you ready for situational tasks

Have you ever thought what makes you multitask. One of the best pros of multitasking is when you are upto an important and single task at a time and you are asked to do another task which is equally important and you’re running out of time you start multitasking which makes you adaptable to it making you professionally ready for situational tasks.

4. It helps you to cope up with distractions

Distractions while working tend to confuse your mind making you slow and less efficient increasing your stress levels. But multitasking makes your brain strong working at multiple tasks at a single time which means your brain works on different subjects keeping you equally focused on all tasks.

5. It enhances your mental focus on multiples things at a time

Talking about focus or concentration needs a very calm mind. But let me tell you multitaskers have very unstable, confused and fast functioning minds and still they succeed in focusing on multiple tasks at a time. That’s because their minds get used to multitasking accepting the stress, distractions and anxiety.

CONS

1. It reduces brain’s efficiency

That’s true! Multitasking helps you to work faster on multiple works simultaneously but reduces the brain power or efficiency. No doubt you work fast but a limited period of time which means your brain gets exhausted quickly and needs more rest.

2. It makes you stressed out

Multitasking leads to stress and that’s a fact. No matter how tactfully you manage multiple tasks simultaneously your mind and brain gets stressed out quickly. It gives rise to depression, anxiety, irritability and exhaustion.

3. It affects the quality of tasks completed

If you’re starting fresh your multitasking capacity will last long for few hours and gradually the efficiency and capacity degrades with the passing hours. So the tasks that you complete get affected making you less productive due to your exhausted mind.

4. It makes you less productive

When your tasks lose their quality your productivity becomes less. Your brain functions on multiple tasks for few hours but the moment your brain starts feeling exhausted your stress levels increase making you less efficient and productive.

5. It encourages to procrastinate making you lazy

When you know you can multitask and finish all the work at a single time you become laid back and skip your working hours to have fun which ultimately encourages you to procrastinate. You finish all your tasks at the last moment and this might also affect your productivity and efficiency.

6. It limits your energy

Repeated multitasking can make your brain adapt to the process, which means you make your brain feel like you can work efficiently for few hours as our energy levels stay high for that limited period. Once your brain gets exhausted your energy level goes down and this limits your energy on a long term.

Best Ice Cream in India

Ice Creams are the hot favorite among young and old alike. This particular dessert offers a wide range of variety in taste, texture, and color which may differ from one brand to the other. Ice cream industry has been constantly evolving and progressing since past few decades and you will find majority of the old as well as the new ice cream brands doing well.

But more importantly, it is the changing taste and preferences of the consumers that have increased competition in the market. Previously, eating ice cream was restricted only to summer and hot days. But now eating an ice-cream cone even with your sweater on in winter or in rainy season holding your umbrella is quite common.

So, undoubtedly, a lot has changed and the business has increased manifold. As of today, the statistics reveal that the ice cream industry of India is worth Rs. 2,000 crores. Apart from the international brands, there are lots of Indian companies too that have kept the Indians tempted with their rich ice creams and frozen desserts.

Choosing The Best Ice Cream For Your Family

The first moment you feel sweaty and hot, you want to gulp down a chilled bottle of water. And if you can possibly dig your teeth into the sweet and rich ice-cold cream, nothing can be better than that. But lately many people are having two minds about indulging in these sweet delicacies just because there has been a growing concern about its effects on the health.

Lately, the war between the topmost ice cream brands regarding frozen dessert and real ice cream has made everyone aware of the ingredients that are an important part of ice cream. And one such ingredient is Vanaspati which can be really harmful to everyone’s health.

The war between Amul and other ice cream brands in India suddenly attracted the attention of the ice-cream eating Indians which revealed the hazardous effects of eating ice creams made from Vanaspati.

Are Products Made From Vanaspati Bad For Health?

Vanaspati is Trans fat or hydrogenated oils and is most popularly known to everyone in India by the brand name, Dalda. The Trans fats have been found to elevate the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) and decrease good cholesterol in your body.

It can ultimately lead to increased risk of diabetes, obesity and heart disease. When used in foods these Trans fats increase the shelf life of any product. Recently Amul claimed that many ice cream brands use Vanaspati for making the ice-cream products, especially those known as frozen desserts.

But it is not completely true.

Are Frozen Desserts Really Bad For You?

The frozen dessert packaging says that it is made by using vegetable oil. More often the oil used by these products can be anything from palm oil to coconut oil or even both. These are both the source of saturated fats.

Recent research suggests that the fat in the coconut oils is healthy and can even reduce belly fat as well as the risk of heart disease. However, palm oil does not offer such health benefitting properties albeit is much cheaper than coconut oil.

It makes one thing clear that both the frozen desserts as well as the ice cream products are rich in fats and both are sweetened with sugar. Frozen dessert carries plant-based fat whereas ice cream contains dairy fat. Hence if the product does not carry Vanaspati neither of the two contains Trans fats and harm the human body directly or indirectly.

So, now the question is which product should you buy? Ice cream or frozen dessert?

What Does the Consumer Voice Research Say?

The recently conducted research by Consumer Voice compared seven topmost brands of Ice Cream and Frozen Desserts in India. The comparison was made based on the taste, flavors, fat level, sugar level, protein percentage and of course price.

In the ice cream category, Verka Ice Cream from Punjab and Baskin Robbins topped the chart in the overall performance. In the Frozen Dessert category, Vadilal topped the list. The major difference between the ice creams and the frozen dessert is that the ice creams are made from dairy and milk and hence are a rich source of vitamins, iron, and calcium.

Frozen Desserts are not naturally enriched with these minerals and vitamins. But since vegetable oil is cheaper than dairy, ice creams are comparatively costlier than frozen desserts. Irrespective of all these comparisons all the ice creams and desserts are high in fat and eating beyond a limited portion can be harmful to your health.

Check out the best ice cream/frozen dessert brands in India:

I am proud to be a woman. Women are not from Mars or any other planet. We are human too, like men are. So, why is it so tough for you guys to figure us out? Women have always been the criticism victims by most of men. Well, if we understand your issues and accept your inconveniences to live with, then why don’t you guys? Oh! common, if we start criticizing you and listing down your weirdest habits, then we would be running out of papers and words for sure. We are girls, we are women, we make your life beautiful, working 24×7 for 365 days without complaining, we give birth to your child enduring the pain, actually almost dying, we keep your stinky clothes clean, your wet towels away from your bed, but still we are so tough for you to understand. Isn’t it? Let’s make a list of what you guys don’t get about women and why?

1. Menstrual days.

Feminine Things Men Never Understand

It’s a very common one. Every girl is blessed with this inevitable and natural feature. During these days every girl has to be careful not to get her dress stained, keeping tampons and sanitary napkins in their bags and when you guys try to peek into our bags, it verily embarrasses us. You guys get irritated when we get concerned about staining or don’t go out anywhere for menstrual cramps. You guys just can’t… Huh! Leave.

2. No partying during menstrual cramp.

Feminine Things Men Never Understand

Again, you people want us to chill out or freak out in public as usual days, during our terribly painful days. We are humans, we too feel pain. Is it so difficult for you to understand our situation?

3. Wearing heels.

Really! We are wearing our own damn heels, so what do you have to do with this. We don’t bother you on your dressing styles. This is an absolute illogical issue to discuss even.

4. Makeup 24 x 7.

Feminine Things Men Never Understand

Let’s make it a little logical one. 24×7? Are you guys really serious? Well, we don’t wear makeup, getting up in the middle of our quality sleep. Jokes apart, we do wear makeup to look good. So, what’s the big deal in it? Everyone wants to look good and perfect. We girls wear makeup for you, so that, you don’t lose interest in us. We love our partners, so we want to look good.

5. Work and personal life equilibrium.

Woman work and personal life equilibrium men never understand

We are working women. We don’t ask for any kind of honour. We work at office and have to work at home too, which men cannot ever manage and understand. All we ask for is a little help or a tiny little appreciation. But, that is nugatory really to expect anything from you guys.

6. Gossiping for hours.

Woman gossiping for hours men never understand

Yes, we love gossiping. We love sharing our stories, our likes, dislikes, dirty talks. We feel good and relaxed doing this. You feel relaxed going for bike rounds, volley ball match, or beer party, we don’t interrogate you or denounce you. Then, what bothers you?

Bangalore Weekend Ideas

Here is a shout out to all the techies in the city, who are tired of their boring jobs. While some of you maintain the customary 9-6 work schedule, there are others who slog it out from 11 to 8 in the night, and then there is this section of you techies who follow the startups culture, where you do not have a standard timing to be maintained, nor is there a limit on the number of hours you end up working all through the week. Needless to say, weekend is the only time you guys have for yourself, your families and friends, to unwind and also to socialize and do something worthwhile. It seems like a lot to do in just two days, doesn’t it? Well, truth be told, such is the situation of the so called elite tech people in the city.

So, what is it that you techies do over the weekend after all? Let me take a guess at some of the things most popular among this section of population to do over a weekend.

The pubs and discos of the city promise to add some colour to life, thereby drawing many corporate fellow people to its doorstep.

For those of you who are more comfortable staying put at home, there is the concept of the so called “house parties” that is doing the rounds. Money saver, adds privacy, guarantees comfort of a house, all of this with a high dose of fun, of course.

Marathon reruns of your favourite TV show, that you have already seen an uncountable number of times.

For those of you who are lucky to have your family in or nearby to Bangalore, you may spend your weekends at home.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself doing one of the above-mentioned thing activities on the weekend. Also, if you think your life has been nothing but boring, then you are in the correct place. Because, we have ideas that are sure to take your weekend life on a different track and for the good. Here is what you can do:

1. Get onto the road

You sure as hell may want to get out and about. After being in front of that lit screen all through the week, a long bike ride would be your gatepass to freedom and some physical activity. Rent a bike in Bangalore from Wheelstreet.com and hit the road. If you thought superbikes are something that you look at in awe in movies, then you are in for a pleasant surprise. You can now get a superbike on rent and feel like the hero sin the movies.

2. Cook

Eating as you know is a necessity but cooking is not only an art but also a life skill. It never hurts to treat yourself to a self-cooked meal. It could be an all-time favourite dish of yours, or something exotic that you have always wanted to try. And if you can team up with a friend, even better. You are increasing your culinary skills, it is fun and you end up with a good meal at the end of it.

3. Walk

Bangalore is known for its gardens and numerous parks. You can find one in almost every area. It would do you all the good in the world, to ditch that phone and take a walk in your nearest park. Spend a good hour or more, amongst the greenery. You will return, feeling fresher than you ever have been.

4. Laze around

You read it right. Laze around and do nothing. Sometimes there is a lot of pleasure in not doing anything at all and everybody is entitled to experiencing this, at least once in their lifetime.  So, whatever it is that you were planning on doing, keep it aside and give yourself the much-needed rest before you have to get back to work the next day.

How Living in PG

Cheaper and Healthier Alternatives to Harmful PG Rooms

Living as a paying guest in your new city might be quite affordable and convenient, but it may not be completely healthy for you.

Most of the Paying Guest apartments are shared rooms. People from all across the country move into these PGs as a temporary and affordable solution for staying in the new city. The caretakers of these rooms don’t really like their job but, the money.

Paying guests are steering away because they’ve realized these reasons:

  1. You shared the utensils with other guests

Not literally though, but the plates and utensils in the PG are used by other people who share the space with you. How hygienic is that? They also share mattresses; bed sheets and pillow covers. Thought they’re washed and cleaned regularly, how much do you trust the caretaker of your PG?

  1. You are more likely to catch a disease in shared rooms

Isn’t it obvious? If someone falls sick in your shared room or shared house, you are breathing the same air while you are in your PG, even if you come over, only to sleep.

Even an uncovered sneeze is unhealthy for you. Plus, you are sharing the sheets, the shower and the washroom that they’re using.

  1. Independent houses are available at the same cost

Online real estate rental solutions platforms like Nestaway.com are providing 1BHK and 2BHK flats for rent in Pune, bangalore and other metro cities without a brokerage. Plus, they take care of all the furnishings and provide competitive rent prices.

Who would live in a PG if you can take an independent room for the same cost?

  1. Sharing wash areas is not cool

Even if you live in a PG with an individual room, you are most likely to share the washrooms and bathrooms in the house and it’s simply not acceptable for your health.

Unless you have a special reason to live in a PG, it shouldn’t be your first choice. Cleaning rooms are supposed to be clean. And multiple people using them makes it hard to keep it clean. How long can you wake up to a wet toilet seat, really?

  1. You need your space to heal and grow which is not available in PGs

After a long day at work, you deserve your own space where you can be yourself and thrive in your comfort zone. Being alone aids physical, psychological and spiritual healing.

Whatever suits you. Loud music, complete silence, cooking your own food or doing yoga at home. You cannot do any of this in your paying guest apartment but, once you rent your own 1 RK or 1 BHK apartment near your office, you have all the time and space to do that.

Recommended: Is Living In A Gated Community A Wise Decision?

  1. You can never have valuables along with you in your PG house

It’s not surprising to see stuff getting stolen in PG houses. Stuff like shoes and expensive clothes get stolen at PG. It’s difficult to buy valuables when you are living in a PG. Got a bonus and bought a new scooter? Beware of the room mate who is fleeing the PG with your scooter keys!

Why would anyone live in such a harmful environment if good apartments are available for rent at the same cost that you would spend on a PG accommodation!

Why the History of Women Removing Their Body Hair Is Steeped With Misogyny

Having body hair is okay. However, if you decide to shave the hair, ensure that you are doing it the right way. Before you begin shaving, have you ever thought how this shaving culture came to be and why it is more common for women than it is for men? A deeper look at the history of body hair shaving will show that there is much more to the practice than just beauty.

Ancient Egypt

Egypt seems to be the mother of all beauty routine used by women today. Body shaving too appears to have first originated from Egypt. Women spent more time ensuring they did not have any hair on their skin than they did apply makeup.  During those times, a woman was more beautiful if her hair was completely removed. For this reason, they removed all the hair from their bodies including the hair on their heads. Unlike today, they did not have technological tools that helped them achieve this purpose. So they created their tweezers from pumice stones and seashell balls. They also occasionally waxed and made the wax from sugar and beeswax.

After death, women were buried with a razor blade and the tweezers and a triangle in their pubic area so that they would continue looking beautiful even in the afterlife.

Roman Empire

During the Roman Empire, lack of body hair was considered a sign of class and wealth.  Unlike the Egyptians however, these men and women used razors, tweezers, creams, flints, and stones to remove any excess hair that had grown. To then even pubic hair was considered uncivilized. You will notice this because many portraits and carvings of these women are hairless. This is perhaps where women today got the sense that all hair must be removed.

Middle ages

Queen Elizabeth I in the Middle Ages was the main reason why women opted to remove all the hair from their bodies. She set the pace and women gladly followed it. Some women who followed her example removed all their hair from their face but did not eliminate the hair on the rest of their bodies. Unlike today where women want their eyebrows neatly shaped, women in this era wanted to remove all the hair from their face and forehead to make it look larger. Women did this using bandages soaked in ammonia or walnut oil. They also used vinegar occasionally.

18th century

The 18th century brought with it a more civilized approach to hair removal. By this time, women did not care much about the amount of hair they had on their bodies. Those who did remove it because they wanted to and not because of influence from other women. In 1760 the first straight razor was created. This allowed women to shave the hair on their body without too much pain involved. In 1884 the first depilatory creams were set up by Dr. Gour and about 40 y8ears later the first modern day shaving razor for men was created by King Camp Gillette a company8 that is still famous to date. Although women did use the razors to shave unwanted hairs from their bodies, it took three decades before a razor for females was marketed. This was in 1900. In 1940 Remington came up with the first electric shaving blade for women. More and more products for hair removal were being produced. Hair removal techniques gave women the confidence to show little more legs as they dressed.

It was not until the 1950s that hair removal because universally accepted and normalized. Shaving creams irritated the skin, so women used razors to remove hair from their bodies and tweezers to shape their eyebrows. In 1960, wax strips made their first debut. They quickly became a standard hair removal technique because they removed all the hair and one would not have to shave for months. In the mid-60s the first laser hair removal method came into being. It was, however, unpopular because it damaged the skin. Today, laser hair removal is back with a bang. Laser hair removal machines are painless, fast and convenient.

Conclusion

Once you have found a shaving method that works for you, you should use it. Come summer a sexy body and hairless skin are always trending.

Share Market Investing Rules

“If you want to earn quick money then share market is the best place!” Have you ever come across such advice? The lure of big money has attracted you towards stock market. Hoping big returns on your investment is actually the need of an hour, but you can’t earn big in stock market before you follow some rules and guidelines.

1. Study the company

There are number of companies to buy shares of in stock market. Study the company well before buying its shares.  Go hrough the balance sheets and profit and loss account statements, understand the business of the company. Check whether the company has booked profits consistently. Invest only if you are satisfied by the performance of the company.

2. Avoid herd mentality

Don’t invest in the stocks just because people around you are investing. Your friends, neighbours may be investing in some specific stock but you check the credentials of the company before putting your money in. The great investor Warren Buffett says “be fearful when others are greedy and be greedy when others are fearful.”

3. Don’t follow tips

You should always be cautious when people give “tips” to buy or sell a stock. These, invariably, mislead you. So, there are heavy chances of losing money when you follow such tips.

4. Don’t keep all your eggs in one basket

It’s a famous saying which very well applies to stock market. Don’t invest all your money in a single stock. Spread your money in more than one companies, even if you lose money in one stock you can gain in others.

5. Be patient

To earn good profit you should be patient. Be in the market for longer time. Allow your investments to grow. Quick money now comes with huge losses in future. So be careful and be patient.

6. Have realistic goals

Invest in the market hoping achievable goals. Stock market is not a tree of money that will grow up to rain more and more money for you. Always enter in the market with goal which is realistic. You can’t expect your money to grow up by 50% or 60%. Warren Buffett says that earning 12% in stock market is pure dumb luck.

7. Be there for longer time

Keep invested in market for long term. You should stay invested for at least three to five years. Give your investments a time to grow.

8. Don’t time the market

This is one thing which nobody could do with a perfection. When you want to be in the market for long time, there is no perfect entry time or perfect exit time. Market always try to achieve new levels, so you cannot expect market to come down for your entry. This level can be the lower level (and the entry point for you) for the next level.

9. Follow the discipline

It is very important to be disciplined while investing in stock market. It is advisable to invest systematically/periodically to earn great returns. Investing systematically at regular intervals will not allow you to lose money either in bull or bear market.

10. Stop Loss

Always keep the stop loss and book losses when you trigger stop loss.

Remember, now we stay in a global village. An event in any part of the world can make or break the financial markets. Never allow your emotions to overpower you, it may be greed of earning more in bull market or fear of losing in bear market. Never allow your broker to trade behalf of you. Always buy/sell for yourself.

There is no sure formula for being success in share market. Owing a part of a company is always exciting. You can really owe a part of a company, provided you keep these things in mind.

Things Women Should Never Skip After Having Sex

I’m damn sure about all couples gathering and garnering information about sex life, increasing sex stamina, duration, better orgasm and all such sex related tenets but I wonder how many of you know about things to do after having sex? However, this information and facts are more essential for women out there who are sexually active. A fulfilling foreplay, lubrication, communication and eye contact are few things to keep in mind before having intercourse but there are some important norms to follow soon after having your pleasurable sweaty work done. Many of us usually prefer to take some rest cuddling with our partners and some love to drink soon after sex hitting the mental rewind button playing everything in our head. But staying in your bed for a long time after having sex can be real harmful to your health especially for women. Here are few things women should never skip after having sex.

1. Use the toilet

8 out of 10 people need to pee soon after having sex. It is not necessary to hit the toilet if you don’t feel like urinating. Wait for few minutes, talk to your partner and flush it out. Because urinating after having sex reduces the chances of getting urinary tract infections that are common in women and the prime reason is bacteria getting pushed in your vagina while repeated insertion. Flushing out urine helps to get rid of bacteria from your urethra and even from the entire region of vagina.

2. Wash yourself thoroughly

It’s totally clear that sex is kind of a little messy job. The messes gets everywhere all over your body so it’s advisable to get a shower or a take a quick bath after having sex. Make sure you rinse yourself thoroughly with shower gels and soaps to keep bacterial and yeast infections at bay which is one of the most important thing women should never skip after having sex.

3. Clean your vagina

Not only your body needs cleansing but also your vagina. Your vagina is the hotspot where bacterial and yeast infections are quite easy to breakout. Wash your vagina with plain water until you get rid of slimy liquids down there. Never use soaps and shampoos down there as it can disturb your vagina’s pH scale. You can use specific vaginal liquid soaps available in the market that keeps your vagina pH normal.

4. Blow dry your vagina

After washing and rinsing your vagina you need to dry it out so that there’s no moisture to give rise to bacterial and yeast infections. You can use your blow dry but cold air in between your legs to dry out your vagina. Don’t use blow dry more than five minutes. You can also use napkins or tissue papers to pat them dry.

5. Keep your vagina moisture free

Keeping your vagina dry and moisture free is very important soon after having sex because moisture helps bacteria to grow fast and cause infections. Moisture can cause UTI and vaginal mycosis. Hence keeping vagina moisture free is another essential thing women should never skip after having sex.

6. Drink lots of water

Keeping your body hydrated is never bad. However sex generates heat in your body which can make your stomach little upset. Having sex dehydrates your body and skin too making your skin and mouth feeling dry. Drinking water maintains body temperature evenly in your body keeping you hydrated and also gives you the urge to pee to get rid of the left over bacteria down there. Drinking water after sex also calms down your mind and helps you to relax.

7. Munch on some probiotics

I’m not quite sure about others, but according to my experience getting hunger pangs soon after sex is quite familiar to me. And according to World Association of Sexual Health feeling hungry after sex is quite common in both men and women. However, few people ignore it to hit the bed and some munch on cookies and potato chips to curb their hunger pangs. But according to WAS, munching on some foods rich in probiotics are quite beneficial. Foods such as kimchi, kombucha, yogurt can restore good bacteria to combat bacterial and yeast infections.

8. Wear cotton undies

One of the most important things women should never skip after having sex is wearing cotton undies because polyester and nylon fabric underwear can lock in moisture and are not breathable. They help bacterial infections to grow faster. Hence wearing cotton shorts or underwear is wise, else you can go commando.

9. Talk to your partner

Usually people after having sex get busy in their grooming procedures and being exhausted they try to get some deep sleep without even noticing what their partners are up to which is totally no..no! After having sex and finishing up your body care regime, hit the bed and cuddle with your partner to talk about something meaningful or how you loved it or different ways to make love and bla bla. Talking meaningful is absolutely not talking about your empty pantries and groceries. Communication between both partners is very important which makes them feel secured and loved.

10. Relax your body

The last thing you must do all after the entire action is letting your mind calm down and relaxing. Just cuddle up, feel the warmth of your partner’s presence and let your body relax and breathe deeply to get some sound sleep.
