Why Should We Meditate Daily?

This post was last updated on January 16th, 2024

Meditation is the disintegration of the thoughts in our pure consciousness without embodiment, knowing without thinking and fusing finitude in infinity.

It’s like taking a bath or shower to clean our mind like we take shower in the morning to clear our body and after that we get busy in our daily activities. Meditation everyday is for bringing calm and peace to our mind, like after taking a shower we don’t have to take bath throughout the day similarly we don’t need to meditate all day. However it’s not that easy to keep yourself undistracted and undisturbed, but the regular routine or practice of meditating daily will make it much easier.

Understanding the concept of Meditation

Unlike most people’s perception about meditation, it’s a very simple habit that anyone could have. Meditation can be done anywhere anytime and it always brings you immediate benefits. Trust me, anywhere, anytime you could do it, it’s only a matter of paying full focus and attention to your breath while sitting in a car, or travelling in a flight or train, or while sitting at  a coffee shop, or sitting in your office, while walking or even while showering. However, meditation should be done for 20-40 minutes, and if you wanna do it, better do it in the morning as you can get ample time to meditate. But, people who find meditation quite monotonous and useless for sitting at one place for so long, doing nothing in their own world is quite predictable who haven’t felt its real benefits. For beginners, you can make a start for at least 20 minutes, or 10 minutes or 5 minutes or even less than that. Let me tell you meditating for even 3 minutes could make a big difference.

In the beginning of your meditation practice you will definitely fall into the gaps in between thoughts, but after practicing for 2-3 years you will become the gap.

Why to meditate daily?

Simply sitting for just few minutes of meditation is a claypan of relaxation, peace and calm that we hardly find in our lives these days. Daily meditation has numerous benefits let’s have a look on it.

1. You obtain peace

Just imagine your body as a room. A room which is totally messed up, disorganized, junks piled all over needs to be cleaned and organized. Similarly, our mind too have got lots of junks that are negative emotions, bad thoughts, negative energy which mostly come from various sources like environment, interaction with people, media, work, and some which are self generated. Meditating daily could clean all your junks on a regular basis repelling negative energies and thoughts and replacing them with positive energy. But, remember like a room which is too messed up, then it consumes some time to get cleaned, our mind and soul will also need some time to gain peace and get purified.

2. Maximizes yourself awareness

A person runs 60,000 average thoughts per day in his mind. We get numerous thoughts within a day, good or bad. Meditation helps in purify those thoughts to make it more clear and distinct. It clears our inner desires and increases our self awareness. The more you meditate, the more aware you become.

3. Makes you calm and grounded

While you meditate, you get detached from the physical world and you become an observer to your reality and your thoughts and feelings that run inside you. You observe how people act around you. You stop being ruled by your ego and you become more associated with your higher self. This detachment, makes you become grounded, calmer and more level headed. The bridge between the stimulus and your response extends.

Meditation is the only tool which makes you more conscious about your surroundings, the world and people around you. You get more interconnected with everything by shedding your lower level of consciousness. Pride, anger, desire, jealous, fear all get replaced with kindness, coolness, willingness, courage those are positive forms of energy.

6. Becomes an inspiration

Human beings probably use only 1% of their brain which is controlled by our conscious mind and the rest 99% which is the intelligence bureau remains in our subconscious mind from which we can get more ideas, solution, and inspirations. Through meditation, we adapt ourselves to that 99% of intelligence which remains locked in our physical life that conscious mind.
