What is Albert Einstein Syndrome?

Albert Einstein syndrome is a medical condition mostly seen in children which involves late onset of language, or late language emergence. In simpler words, a child may experience delay in speech. However, the plus point of this syndrome is it demonstrates a blessed gift in other areas regarding analytical thinking. A child with Einstein syndrome undoubtedly, speaks eventually with no issues, but always stays higher on the graph in other areas.

Thomas Sowell was careful to differentiate that all late-talking children are not included in the Einstein syndrome category and Dr. Camarata also added that even though all autistic children are late talkers, but not all the late-talkers are autistic.

The reason to differentiate and clarify the concept is the term itself which is “Einstein Syndrome” which may be the reason of criticism as overly dramatic or giving the parents unfeasible expectations of the highly genius promise for their child.

1. Delay in speech

Children with Albert Einstein syndrome manifest difficulty in verbal communication especially, in their initial years. Most kids with this syndrome seem to speak only a few words or certain words by the time they get three years old, and proper framing of a sentence by these kids is usually never seen before they get four years old.

2. Strong willed attitude

The kids who have this syndrome are usually strong willed and very headstrong. If they don’t seem to like something, they would let you know instantly and when they lose something they manifest their emotion very sensibly. These kids are hard to be persuaded to do something they don’t want to or willing to.

3. Delayed toilet training

The ideal age for any toddler to kid to be potty trained is between 22 to 30 months. But still every child is different. And according to the experts, kids with this specific syndrome seem to take a little bit of longer time in getting toilet trained.

4. Outstanding memory

Kids with AES or Albert Einstein Syndrome have a spectacular memory capacity. These kids manifest outstanding skills over musical instruments and gadgets, like computers, cellphones, calculators, even, before their peers.
