2. Have variety of foods in your diet.

You must know what makes your food plate balanced, healthy and fulfilling. There is so much variety food offers you when you want to eat healthy vitamins, carbs and protein. You can eat carbs in the form of fruits, veggies, grains and dairy products. You can have protein from dairy items or meat (mainly fish). Fats are also important to some level. You can take fats from vegetable oil, nuts and avocado.

To have a balance, add ½ of your plate with veggies, ¼ with some protein and ¼ with starchy vegetables or whole grains. It is also supremely important that you take prenatal vitamins as per your doctor’s recommendation.

For your dinner and lunch, add starchy foods with high fiber to your plate as that is going to help you in reducing the glycemic level of your meal.  That’s a good way to have nutrients that you need while maintain your blood sugar levels and weight which directly affects your baby growth rate.

3. Have small meals throughout the day.

You must have something healthy to eat like fruits, juices, salad and milk to provide you energy during the day. This way your blood sugar levels will also remain stable. Make sure to have breakfast early morning and have snacks if you eat meals with a difference of 5-6 hours.

4. Keep a track of the nutrients you need.
