A Buying Guide to a Suitable Luggage

Buying Guide to a Suitable Luggage

The telescopic suitcase handle and luggage Swivel Wheels are two main factors

The old suitcases were usually wrapped in leather, rattan or thick rubber cloth on a hardwood or steel frame, and the corners were fixed in brass or leather with handles and closed with buttons. This traditional suitcase can only be carried, which is very inconvenient to use.

Then in 1972, Bernard D. Sadow applied for a patent entitled ROLLING LUGGAGE. Bernard is an executive at a US luggage company. He once shopped with his wife in the supermarket and saw a young man pulling the shopping cart behind him, putting items in it. At that moment, Bernard thought that this young man was so smart that he got the inspiration from the wheeled suitcase.

In 1988, Robert set up a leather bag company, specializing in the production of luggage, and the brand name is the famous TravelPro.

In the movie “Up in the Air,” George Clooney’s trolley case is TravelPro, making it the most successful branding promo for TravelPro.

How much time can a good suitcase save? The actor in the film persuade a man to buy a right box:

Bad luggage would delay 35 minutes at a time, 270 days a year for business trips, referring to 157 hours, which is equivalent to wasting 7 days. Do you want to spend a week to drag your suitcase?

Nowadays, the luggage is much more mature than it used to be. So what on earth you should take into account?

The handle and wheels are what should be placed most importance.

a. Today, the handle of the luggage is generally built-in, and it’s more durable. The trolley case with a handle which is totally exposed is very easy to be damaged during use so the suitcase with a built-in handle is the mainstream in the market.

b. Be made of the aluminum or aluminum alloy. It’s light. The aluminum extension handle is light and sturdy, so it is prompt to withstand rough handling. For example,  Sunsen’ s 9U03BB is an aluminum extension handle and the low weight is its inherent advantage.

c. It’s recommended to buy a double-bar, although the single one is distinctive, but it’s laborious to drag and quite hard to keep balance. If you have a double pole, you’re more likely to keep it secure; what’s more, you can fix your backpack on it.

d. The lever should be able to be adjusted. Pay attention to whether the lever is smooth when it is pulled.

e. The handle sway is scientific. Since it is composed of multiple sections and has a telescopic function,  to ensure the smooth use under thermal expansion and cooling, there must be a certain gap between each tie rod. A hidden danger lies in the non-swaying lever because the gap is small, the friction is relatively increased, the handle is not flexible, and then it is easy to be stuck.

The lever swinging range of the trolley case is normal within 5°, If the handle is too loose, the control force on the cabinet is insufficient when there is an emergency stop or turns, which is more tiring for users.

  • Wheels

The wheel is the most important part of a trolley case. It’like its foot, which determines how far the suitcase can go and how stable it is.

Also, it’s the most vulnerable part. When it’s still, it must bear the weight of the box and baggage; when it’s rolling, it’s expected to withstand all kinds of bumps on the road. Thus, it should be strong and durable!

The one-way wheel that can only go in one direction has been basically eliminated by the market. At present, the common models are all-purpose wheels. The universal wheel is divided into four wheels and eight wheels. The general box has wheels at the bottom four corners, and the eight wheels mean that each corner of the original wheel is installed with two wheels.

a. Compared with the fixed built-in wheel, the universal wheel can be more convenient to erect, and the two wheels are more stable and easier to drag than the single wheel. Sensen’s 8046-L1-Q1, the universal luggage swivel wheels can speak for that.

b.The eight wheels has higher durability, stability, and flexibility than the four wheels because the friction area is reduced while the force area is increased, in this way, it can bear heavy pressure and long-term rolling.

c. The wheels, which are made of silent rubber, are better. Their damping effect is relatively good due to high elasticity, high strength, wear resistance and high temperature resistance. That’s also the shining point of 8046-L1-Q1 of Sunsen.
