Problems related to digestive system are very common. Even a lay man has a full symptomatic apprehension of these conditions and attempts to treat or lessen conventional remedies. But these are the signs of underlying severe diseases and chronic conditions. When them at home with natural herbs or by adopting his/her ancestral method and attains a temporary relief from these they don’t get relief from these remedies they present in hospitals with common digestive disease symptoms such as heart burn, constipation, dyspepsia, diarrhea, bloating, gas, esophageal reflex, flatulence and cramps in the abdominal region but most of the time doctors loses precious clinical treatment time just because of patient’s negligence and his/her poor health beliefs towards these spreading factors.

Host factors of these common digestive system diseases include unhealthy and sedentary life style, missing routine meals and inadequate physical exercise. It also includes working for long hours sitting on desk in schools, offices and colleges. Our eating habits are changing as time is changing. First mankind lived in jungles with no concept of nutritious food and ate whatever he/she got to satisfy his/her needs but what they ate was fresh. As mankind evolved, eating habits also evolved. People have become stacked to frozen and readymade food. We have become more attractive to food which is sealed in tin containers or packed in plastic sachets. This has affected our health and life expectancy. Our ancestor used to eat fresh and nutritious food free from any kind of pesticides and carcinogens. They stayed healthy and lived for many years and some of them even for above a century. What is missing? We have lost that essence of fresh and natural food.

Following habits must be adopted in order to keep ourselves healthy and fit.

Keep more fruits, low fat dairy products, vegetables and whole grain food at home and at work. Focus on adding healthy food to your diet rather than just taking unhealthy foods away. Try to eat a family meal every day at the kitchen or dining table. This will help you focus on eating healthy meals. Also pack healthy lunch and snacks for work.

Drink water instead of high sugar drinks including high sugar juices. Don’t skip or delay meals, and be sure to schedule your snacks. If you ignore your feelings of hunger you will end up eating too much or choosing an unhealthy snack. In constipation a person must increase the intake of dietary fibers and moving his/her bowels when he/she urges. Resisting the urge for defecation is the major cause of constipation in busy routine life so a person must avoid it at any cost. If these treatments don’t work, then laxative are a temporary solution. But a patient must keep in mind over use of laxative can make the situation even worsen.

In case of flatulence and abdominal cramps which is often mentioned as “Gas and Gola,” person must avoid caffeine and carbonated drinks, increase fibers in diet, take less stress and learn different ways to cope with stress.
