Growth Tricks

Legend has it that the great Egyptian king, Ramses ii, was a shoulder above the rest, and as a result, he enjoyed several social benefits.

The 19th dynasty pharaoh was not the only son of king Seti 1. However, he stood out, and his father made him regent, from an early age.

Even in contemporary society, tall people enjoy a variety of social benefits such as adoration, trust, and confidence. They are seen as competent and intelligent. Tall men are attractive to the opposite sex. Therefore, it is understandable why many people try a variety of methods to appear tall.

The following tips and tricks may help you join the height growth club and become taller than your peers.

1. Have enough sleep

Sleeping enough has a variety of benefits and among them is growing tall. Typically, your body secretes growth hormone, responsible for cell generation, when you are sound asleep. Your body also gets enough time to heal and continue growing to your optimal height.

So, having trouble getting to sleep? Try taking a bath before you head for the bedroom.

2. Stay away from drugs

Excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs is a sure way of stunting. Alcohol and drugs affect nutrient absorption in the body, and your growth plates may close before you attain your ideal height. Stay away from drugs and alcohol and your chances of becoming taller improve.

3. Eat a Balanced Diet

Eating a balanced diet is a foolproof way your body gets the essential nutrients to power your growth. A balanced diet includes green leafy vegetables, wholemeal foods, fruits, proteins and starch, all in the right portions.

You will also need to eat calcium-rich foods like dairy products. Remember that your body cannot synthesize calcium on its own and will need to acquire it from the foods. Lack of calcium in the body is the root of many problems such as bone loss and weak joints.

Apart from dairy products, seafood is another good source of calcium. That means eating crabs, snails, shrimp and oysters help in height growth.

Another special food, when it comes to height growth and overall body health, is carrots. Typically, the food contains vitamin A and helps your body in protein synthesis. You can make a juice out of the carrot or eat it raw.

Among the essential amino acids that help in height growth and overall health include lysine. Lysine-rich food such as bean sprouts, fish, beans, lamb, fruits and vegetables should be in your daily diet. Typically, the essential amino acid is part of many physiological processes in your body and supplementation may be necessary in cases where it is insufficient.

Avoid the temptation of overeating. Overweight is not only unhealthy but also compresses your spine affecting your height growth. Avoid junk food as well.

4. Maintain a Good Posture

The cartilage between the bones in your spine needs proper spacing to expand and grow. However, the wrong posture can compress the bones as well as the cartilage making efficient growth impossible. Ideally, make it a habit of having the right pose at all times.

The right posture entails having your chin up, shoulders straight, and sitting straight. Avoid bending when you are walking, and always look straight ahead.

5. Exercise

Make it a habit of getting off your desk and doing some exercises now and then. Stretch and jump often, to remove tension in your body and improve circulation. Stretching and exercises enhance the production of the human growth hormone, responsible for growing tall and overall body health.

Some stretching suggestions include standing on your toes or the cobra pose. You can as well play games that serve both as a workout and a stretching exercise such as basketball and swimming.

6. Moderate on Caffeine

Well, no specific research directly links caffeine consumption to stunted growth. However, studies show a significant relationship between heightened brain activity and caffeine consumption. There is nothing wrong with being alert when at the office, but it is not a good idea to take coffee or other caffeinated drinks a few hours before bedtime.

Conclusion

The key to achieving an optimal height is as simple as eating right, exercising and adopting healthy habits. Stay away from drugs and alcohol as well as junk food. And most importantly, lead a healthy lifestyle.
