Pre-season your smoker

Preheat your smoker

People normally make a mistake by putting the meat early. But before starting the smoking, you need to set your smoker to the required temperature. Make sure that you know the meat smoking temperature of your device and use that range of temperature only. When the wood chips start to turn into ash, you can start smoking. 

Start smoking

While preheating, you should prepare your meat for the smoking. You can use a dry rub for the meats to retain the original flavor. You need to wait for your smoker to be temperature-ready, and then you can smoke the meat. 

For the best result, you can prepare the rub and put it on your meats and then you can wrap it with the plastic paper. You need to keep it in the fridge overnight. 

The next morning, you can prepare the meat. The cooking time might vary from three to eight hours depending on the cooking material. You need to be patient to get your cooked meat. 

If you are preparing different types of the meats at the same time, you need to check the temperature by a meat thermometer. Different types of meats will demand different cooking time with the same level of the temperature.
