Moving into My New House

My New House

I’m excited to finally be moving into a house! Since I left my parents’ place ten years ago, I’ve lived in a number of beautiful apartments, but none has truly felt like home. That’s why I worked hard, saved up, and bought the right house for me when the time was right!

Obviously, the housing market is in disarray, but I was lucky to find the perfect little cottage. It has just enough room for me to live a comfortable life. The backyard isn’t huge, but even some outside space is much better than having none at all. What I’m most excited for is to get breathing room from my rowdy neighbors!

As happy as I am, the moving process has been tiring—driving back and forth gets tedious after a while. So, I’ve found ways to cut down my stress. Here are just a few!

New house, new face

I saved so much money that, even after buying the new house, I had enough left to splurge on an extra gift. I decided to deal with the lines and wrinkles all over my face. I’m slowly getting older, but my skin had already experienced some of the worst aspects of aging, and it had become hard for me to look in the mirror without feeling self-conscious.

So, I did some research and decided to get a mini facelift. Now, I look not only younger, but so much more alert! In fact, since the surgery, I haven’t worried about my looks at all. I’m encouraged by the outstanding results every time I look in the mirror!

Going to the spa

I started moving last Friday, and after putting all of the furniture in the right places, I had to spend most of Saturday driving back to the old apartment. Worse, there would be at least another 2 drives to and from, so I decided to take Sunday off and go to a spa.

The spa was the perfect antidote to my stress—it was an environment of peace completely separated from the chaos of the moving process. My favorite part was the full-body massage. I hadn’t felt that refreshed in years!

Going forward, I think I’m going to visit the spa more often. There’s nothing like pampering yourself following a day of hard work!

Sleeping in the truck

After lugging a heavy keyboard down my apartment’s stairs and up into the moving truck, I wanted to collapse on the street and fall asleep. Of course, I couldn’t—there was a lot more furniture to take care of, so I had to toughen up!

Once the movers and I had loaded everything into the truck and started driving to my new place, I decided to catch up on some sleep. Because of the herky-jerky traffic, I woke up a lot, but did manage to catch just enough Z’s to feel refreshed and ready to work when we arrived. In fact, I was excited to start unloading!

Relaxing with games

I’m moving my PC last so that, in the meantime, I have an easy way to unwind. Video games are a wonderful way of rewarding yourself after some seriously difficult work!

For the last few months, I’ve been playing an MMORPG that lets me explore an almost never-ending map filled with skeletons, werewolves, and vampires. It’s an extremely fun experience that never fails to help me unwind; there’s nothing quite like a mind-numbing hour or so of relaxation. Even better, I can play with my friends!
