Tips to Clear 5 Math Olympiads

The Math Olympiad is an online exam all over the world where students of class 5 can participate. Olympiad is a competitive exam that promotes the same learning that was taught in our class. The Olympiad is conducted by many foundations and organizations in which the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is one of the organizations which hold mathematics competitions in schools annually in different countries. Olympiad events ensure complete impartiality during exams whose content is prepared under strict regulation and in complete adherence. Although the Olympiad syllabus is prescribed by different boards like CBSE, ICSE, and international because of this the questions asked here are a little different and hard. Math Olympiads are the examinations conducted for students to enhance their mathematical and analyzing skills. You should keep in mind the following tips while preparing for Olympiad exams are as following:

 First, go through the syllabus because once you get a good knowledge of the syllabus, it becomes easy to focus on concepts. Some students waste their time and after exams, they panic. Hence, every primary student studies equally throughout the year. Always know the exact pattern the total number of questions and marks are divided. There are two levels. In the first level, the Olympiad exams will be 60% from the 5 class and 40% from the previous. When you get to level 2 you need to prepare the current class syllabus. So, divide your syllabus accordingly.

  • Make a proper schedule-

A proper timetable helps to cover up the entire syllabus at a proper period of time. Dedicating separate time for different chapters is the basic need in Olympiad exams. Set realistic goals which is the most important part. Make enough study timetables about 25 hours a week which also cover your academic syllabus and school routine. In grade 5, students are introduced to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of factors and decimals. The pattern of the exam is the same as the academic syllabus. However, the questions asked in the exam are slightly different and unrestrained. Learn one new and creative thing every week. Blocking some time for extracurricular activities to refresh your mind. Practice mostly logical reasoning sections first. Practice word problems and refer to different study material by the Indian talent Olympiad. Identify different formulae and practice for those individuals. Taking breaks in study sessions help you to retain information and improve both focus and attention.

Management is the key to becoming more productive in general. Solving more and more question papers at a certain period of time, testing your knowledge and skills and also the ability to handle the pressure and complete exams within the given time. Start studying NCERT Book and keep practising mock tests that are based on previous year Math questions. In the Olympiad, the pattern is objective. You need to fill in the OMR sheet. Previous year questions which have the answer key in the last help you to know the right exam pattern. Attempting mock tests intuition or online helps you to prepare for your Olympiad exam and boost some confidence.  Studying continuously makes you tired very easily. Hence, taking breaks after 1-1.5 hours of study helps you stay motivated and focus your mind at the right point.
