Plumber

Some plumbing problems are a quick fix, while others are more devastating with water levels rising in your home. It is devastating and beyond frustrating if you wake up to no water as you get ready for your work day or come home to overflowing water. The following are the top four signs that you should call a plumber.

  1. You Have Low Water Pressure

A plumber can inspect the internal workings of your plumbing. If you have low water pressure, there could be a blockage or leak in one of your main water pipes. If you have low water pressure in the bathroom but not anywhere else in your home, the faucet may be clogged.

If the faucet is not clogged, the plumber will further investigate and diagnose why the water pressure is low in only one room. Cracked or broken pipes in the walls or underneath the house will greatly decrease water pressure. A plumber can fix this issue safely and efficiently.

  1. You Do Not Have Hot Water

After long showers, it is normal to run low on hot water. Your water heater needs time to heat more water. This process is quick. If it has been three or more hours and you still do not have any hot water, you will need plumbing services. Water heaters are expensive. At the first sign of it not working properly, such as no hot water, you should have a plumber quickly inspect it. Plumbers can troubleshoot and diagnose the issue.

Some water heater issues are small while others are large. Do you have more people in your home or has your family grown in size? A plumber may advise you to invest in a larger water heater. They will tell you what tank size you should install based on the size of your family and house. They will also help you install the proper breaker so you will not run into any further issues.

If your water is greatly fluctuating in temperatures, a plumber will also check other issues such as:

  • Fuses
  • Thermostats
  • Heating elements
  • Pipes
  • Igniters
  1. You Do Not Have Any Water

When you go to do dishes or turn the shower on in the morning to get ready and find out that you have no water at all, it is extremely inconvenient. If you wake up or come home to no water, you should call your neighbours and see if they have the same problem.

If you and your neighbours have the same issue, a plumber can help you find out if the city is redoing the water line or if a pipe was broken to both properties. If your neighbours are not

having the same problem and your water bill is paid, a plumber can also diagnose the issue causing no water access in your home.

  1. Your Toilet Continues to Overflow

When your child drops a toy down the toilet or too much toilet paper is used at once, it is a common occurrence for your toilet to overflow. Sometimes you can quickly remedy the issue by simply plunging your toilet. If your toilet continues to overflow even after plunging, you are in need of plumbing services. You should turn the water off and use another source for a toilet until a plumber can resolve the issue.

A plumber will be able to tell you if you have a blockage or a clog in the water leading to your toilet. If you flush your toilet and it quickly overflows, it is most likely due to a blockage. A plumber can typically address these issues quickly. If your toilet sometimes overflows for no reason at all, there could be a clog in a drainpipe in your sewer.
