Hacks to Ace Class 11 Exam

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was set up in the year 1961 by the Government of India. This autonomous institution was drafted to aid the CBSE students and prepare them for their final exams. Choosing the right books for the final exams is an integral part of the preparation and the NCERT books fulfil this demand successfully. Since the main objective of this organization is to deliver quality education to the students, the books were written after extensive research thereby delivering the students acute and authenticated content. Class 11, Physics, in general, is quite a competitive subject for students and they are asked to equip themselves with certain skills and preparation techniques to score high. Also, class 11 in particular deals with lot of basic concepts. Hence, this article in detail explains the strategies and hacks required by students of class 11 to ace up their exams.

Preparation techniques to help students ace their class 11 Physics exam:

#1. First and foremost, students are ought to know that the NCERT textbooks are key to score high in their exams. The NCERT class 11 physics book enlightens the students with fundamentals and apt information in an easy language. These books are simply known for their focus on every single topic thereupon enabling the students to fathom all the concepts of Physics. As physics is established as a difficult subject among students, the NCERT book’s easy and complex to simple method makes them one of the most sought-after study materials.

#2. As the saying goes, any complicated study derives its strength from its basics, likewise, the book’s explanation of the fundamentals serves as a cherry on the top. The exam pressure in students make them and their parents seek various study materials for the board exam, but instead, going for the NCERT would be a time saver as they are prescribed by the CBSE itself for their boards. Students are advised not to seek various study material and get confused with the topics. It is always good to have a minimal number of reference books for concept clarification and problem practice. Students are advised to go through the ‘NCERT exemplar’ since this acts as an added advantage to exam students as they gain confidence for their exams through repeated solving.

#3. Plan your preparation well as a vague preparation will not lead you to good grades. Students are suggested to go through their syllabus well and divide them into theoretical and practical sections and allocate time to both the sections separately.

#4. Students should know the chapter wise mark weightage of all the 10 units to plan effectively. Units like 7, 10, 5, and 2 carry a lot of marks comparing to the other units also they are huge and requires a lot of time for preparation, hence students are advised to allocate their maximum time to these units and make sure they complete them as their priority.

#5. As far as the theoretical part is concerned, students are advised to take them slow and easy as studying them all at once can be overwhelming to them. Visualizing the mechanics while studying will help them understand and memorize the concepts better. Also, note-taking of important points, equations and formulas will help them later during their revision.

#6. On par with the theory, problems and derivations are also important as solving them will fetch good marks for the students. Students are suggested to regularly practice the chapter wise book back problems to excel in them. Solving problems from reference books will facilitate them to understand the different types in which questions are formed. Go through your prepared formula note daily as this will serve as the best memorization technique.

#7. If students opt for selective study, they are advised to read the multiple-choice questions from those chapters. Also, going through only the important questions in those chapters will act as an added advantage for the students during their exams.

#8. Revision is an integral part of study preparation. Instead of reserving the revision part only for the exam preparation, students are suggested to revise their lesson frequently to keep their memory intact. Allocate specific time for revision and revise concepts in between your preparation to ace your exams. Revising often will also help you remember the keywords well and hence deliver the apt answers in their answer sheet.

#9. Practice derivation more often. Students are requested to never mug up any derivation and understand them completely. Take time to understand the steps in the derivation and practice them more often to have them at their fingertips.

#10. Students are suggested to do three types of preparation in their class 11, i.e., general preparation wherein students study the concepts from all the chapters, understand them well and then memorize them, the second one is the exam type preparation wherein students who are already familiar with the concepts will prepare the topics according to the mark weightage. In this preparation type, students are advised to take section-wise tests, for example, giving a mock test on the multiple-choice questions, short answers, long answers and problem questions separately to enable the students to answer questions from all the sections in the exam. The final preparation technique involves the students giving a whole portion test as this will be a final check on the student’s preparation done so far. This will also help the students with time management and help them complete their papers on time.

#11. Apart from the class tests students are suggested to write short tests on sample question papers at home and correct it themselves as correcting and analysing their own mistakes will help them find their weak areas and also not let them repeat their mistakes in the next test.

Hence, some of the tips and strategies for students of class 11 has been stated above. Above all the techniques, it is the student’s perseverance and hard work that will pay off in the end.
