Should You Buy Gtech or Dyson For Your Home?

This post was last updated on February 12th, 2024

Cordless vacuum cleaners are indeed a blessing. They are portable, lightweight, comfortable to use, and most importantly, no more worrying about plugging and unplugging cords every time you move from one room to another.

Gtech vs Dyson

However, buying the right one can seem daunting as the choices overwhelm you. Features vary from model to model when you compare. Some have a more powerful battery and therefore last longer. Other models come up with multiple extensions and better attachments.

Between these two brands, the choice can be really tough as both offer a bevy of features and conveniences. Here is a brief review of each to make your selection easier.

GTech AirRam MK2

It is by far the best cordless vacuum that makes most of the features. It weighs only 3.5 kg, which is lighter than most other units available in the market. Equipped with a professional-grade 22v Lithium-ion battery, the Gtech AirRam promises 40 minutes of run time with a 4-hour charge, which is a fair deal.

You may switch from carpets to hard floors without any change in settings. The edge technology enables the user to get into the tricky corners and edges and get them cleaned. While other cordless vacuums use suction power to draw air through the filter and leave the dirt in the bag, the MK2 uses a brush bar to beat up the dirt before being sucked into the bin by a fan.

Also, the bin features a massive 0.8 litre holding capacity that can hold 2.4 liters of dirt. The new bin also comes with a slider that can be used to eject everything while emptying the bin without getting the one’s hands dirty.

Dyson V8 Animal

At 2.6 kg, it is much lighter than its competitors, but then it is more of a hand-held stick cleaner than other cordless vacuum cleaners. Of course, it may not be the best choice if you’re looking to clean the entire house. It features a Nickel Cobalt Aluminium battery, which offers a maximum run time of 40 minutes.

When using a powered head, you can expect a run-time of about 25-35 minutes, but it lasts only 7 minutes or so when using the suction power mode. Also, the bin capacity is only 540 ml. It is fine for dirt and debris. It comes with several accessories like a mini dusting brush, combination, crevice tool, etc.

Which One Should You Choose?

So, if you’re searching for a vacuum cleaner for your daily cleaning needs, it is GTech v/s Dyson as they’re best for combining performance and features, although both have their strengths and drawbacks fit for different purposes.

GTech MK2 is best for cleaning floor areas, and cleaning the entire house is super convenient, but it may not be the best one for cleaning corners and edges as it comes with no accessories.

On the other hand, Dyson V8 is a more versatile device that is great for cleaning walls, docks, cupboards, and cars thanks to the accessories that come with it. So the choice ultimately depends on your specific need. Consider the features, your requirement, and then choose the best one that matches the job.
