Traveling in Style: Limo or Party Bus?

If you have always used public transport or your own vehicle, you would only be human if you occasionally wondered what it was like to be driven around like the rich and famous, with entire fleets of vehicles at your disposal should you decide to travel on a whim. Having a jet on permanent standby, being able to bypass the queues for trains and buses, and enjoying custom-designed upholstery in luxurious leather, the finest fabrics and above all the joys of not having to cram together with strangers whose idea of hygiene is not quite the same as yours, seems like a pleasant daydream to most of us.

But there are luxury vehicles out there, available for short-term hire by those who cannot afford to maintain them all the time and they can offer a glimpse into that hedonistic world of high-end transport. The most common of these are limos and party buses which can be hired for anything from an evening to a week or two, depending on the event in question, and they will quickly spoil your taste for public buses and subway trains if you let them!

Party buses are a great way to get a party started while you travel to the main event, be it a prom, an engagement party, or any other celebration. A comprehensive and well-stocked bar will soon get everyone chattering away, while the beautifully kept bathrooms make sure that there is no need for unnecessary stops along the way. The décor is usually designed to look like a high-end night-club or restaurant, and the wide bench seats are comfortable and will seat up to twenty people, usually. The driver can set the party lighting into action, with a disco ball glittering overhead and neon track lighting and laser rays giving the bus the appearance of something other than a mere means of transport! The bigger buses even have room for a VIP area at the back, where special guests can escape to enjoy some tranquility for a while. Limos are almost party-bus-lite albeit with a more sophisticated veneer. This may or may not be a good thing as limos are sometimes found to add an unwanted air of formality and gravitas to an event that is intended to be more informal and light-hearted. For formal events, though, they are perfect! Limos also have a good supply of snacks and drinks, and often have an entertainment system too, where music or television can be played to entertain the passengers on the drive to the venue.

Both buses and limos have their advantages, perhaps the main one being that they come with a fully trained and licensed driver who will get them to and from the venue in both comfort and safety, allowing all guests to enjoy a drink or two while at the party without fretting about driving later.

Which option you choose will usually largely come down to how many guests you have in need of transportation. Limos are great for ten passengers or less, while party buses can cater for up to twenty in comfort. The one you choose should cater to your specific needs.
