It follows the life of Mumble, who is unable to sing during the mating season like all of the other penguins, but he can dance! In an attempt to win over female penguin Gloria, he shows off his moves and as a result, is ridiculed by the others. But not all is bad for this little penguin, especially when he attracts masses of attention with his moves at a local zoo and puts an end to overfishing! 2. Good Burger 

You cannot beat an older film on family movie day, especially as the nostalgia will rush back for the older generation involved. The popular American comedy film, Good Burger, certainly falls under that nostalgic category. When friendly and gullible Ed establishes a new sauce at his place of employment, Good Burger, money-making Dexter sees it as an opportunity to pay off his debts from a recent car crash. But when Mondo Burger, the newest competitor opens up, they have much bigger problems on their hands. What will it take to save the Good Burger company and will lucrative ways overshadow friendship? You certainly are in for a laugh with the Good Burger clan.  

3. Finding Nemo 

This Disney classic would not go a miss on your family movie marathon list. When young and bold Nemo attempts to show off on his first day of school, he is unexpectedly captured by sea divers that bring him to shore. Much to his overprotective dad, Marlin’s surprise, he embarks on the greatest journey of his life across the ocean to be reunited with his son. When he meets Dory, a Blue Hippo Tang fish with short-term memory loss, he truly is in for a treat, oh and so is the audience! 4. Toy Story  

Starring Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the real-life toys gang in young Andy’s bedroom, the Toy Story film series truly is one of the best collections of films to date, and you can never go wrong with the original! In the original film, we meet all of the toys, including Andy’s favourite toy, Sheriff Woody, but when Andy’s birthday approaches, Woody’s place is filled by newcomer Buzz Lightyear making him extremely jealous and resentful. 5. Home Alone 

You are bound to have heard about the 1990s classic starring Macaulay Culkin, better known as Kevin McCallister, as he embarks on a mission of living on his own before he is encountered by the town’s “wet bandits”, Harry and Marv. Filled with mischief, gangster films, and some downright creative and dodgy pranks and traps, it will not only have your kids laughing but you too! Although this film revolves around the Christmas period and is one of the biggest Christmas favourites worldwide, it is still a hilarious watch for a family movie day.  

6. Matilda  

Matilda is a wholesome classic. We are yet to come across someone who hasn’t enjoyed this film! Young Matilda Wormwood realises at a young age that she is extremely different from the rest of her wild, conning, and money-grabbing family. She is so intelligent that at around 6 years old, she makes her way through piles of novels a week! When she embarks on her school journey, she certainly doesn’t have an easy ride, especially with the headteacher, Mrs. Trunchbull in sight! But when she finds her bearings with friends, her class teacher, oh and her superpowers, life starts to look up for the young and ambitious girl. Matilda truly is one of the best movies to watch with family on your movie marathon day.  

7. The Parent Trap 

Lindsay Lohan’s performance in the famous film, “The Parent Trap” will always be a performance to praise, especially as she plays both of the main characters! Mind-boggling! When young girls, Annie and Hallie meet at a summer camp, they soon realise that they umm, look exactly the same? After realising that they are twins who have been separated at birth, they embark on a journey to reunite their parents with one another. As both are extremely curious about what their other parent is like, following the summer camp, Annie who resides in London makes her way to California to connect with her real father, and Hallie who lives in California embarks on her journey to London to meet her mother. Surely no one will notice, will they?
